Political Experience As Senior Finance Advisor for the Democratic National Committee during the 1996 election year, Kim focused on Presidential events nationwide, national labor and special projects related to the DNC, the Democratic Convention in Chicago and the Presidential campaign. Prior to joining the DNC she served for seven years as President of Kimberly Scott & Associates, a political consulting firm specializing in national and in-district fundraising, political strategy, legislative research and analysis for Democratic candidates. She was voted one of politics “Rising Stars” in Campaigns & Elections’ May 1994 national survey and was profiled in July of 1993 as one of “74 Women Who Are Changing American Politics”. The article was based on a nationwide survey of Members of Congress, state party chairs, political consultants and organization heads. Before entering the fundraising field, Kim worked for two years with Doak, Shrum & Associates, a national political media and consulting firm. Previously she served as a Legislative Correspondent on Capitol Hill. Kim holds a BS in Political Science from James Madison University. She is a native Washingtonian.
